August DanceFestival has ended and Kanuti Gildi SAAL starts its new season
[04.09.14]

With 31 of August, the 15th August DaceFestival, an international performing arts festival, came to its end. Taken place since 1996, August DanceFestival is Tallinn's oldest international performing arts festival that has developed through time and blurred by fields following the tendance of blending borders in overall arts. Foremost, it is a festival about artists, their thoughts and actions. It is a festival where risks are taken and questions asked.

This year, festival performers came from Estonia, Belgium, Italy, Holland, France and Sweden. 2 local premieres and a first screening of a dance film took place. All together it comprised 10 different performances and over 20 events, including performances, film premiere, discussions, lectures and a party. Festival was visited by approximately 2000 people, which is 95% onf possible audience number. We have decided that next festival will be held under different name.

However, on 12 September, kanuti Gildi SAAL starts its 14th season with a traditional opening event Vertikaalstart. In different formats, all artists in residencies or on stage during next season are attending: Renate Keerd, Maria Ibbaretxe, Kinoteater, Henri Hütt, Superamas, Hendrik Kaljujärv, Iggy Malmborg, Kärt Tõnisson, Helen Reitsnik, kadrinoormets, Katariina Ratasepp, Maria Lee Liivak, Twisted Dance Company, Anni Klein, Jarkko Partanen, Alissa Šnaider, Veronika Vallimäe, Riina Maidre, Taavet Jansen, Henri Hütt.
