EIKE ÜLEVAIN
No Man is an Island
"No Man is an Island" is a nature-dance film, inspired by a poem of the same title written by J. Donne. Together with Lauri-Dag Tüür's music, this film creates a dynamic image of rhythms of nature and human movements. Hurrying becomes quiet flowing, striving forward becomes melting into the nature. Two people as well as nordic and southern nature are melted in visual image.
Eike Ülevain has graduated Tallinn Pedagogical University as a choreographer and is currently active as a freelance dance artist. She has made dance films, performances and created choreography for music videos and drama performances. The last works created with other (dance) artists include dance performances "Kohalolek", "tõlgitud" and "post kaart". Last season, Ülevain spent a long time in tropical forest, where the process of "No Man is an Island" also began.
