Festival ÜLE HELI

ALGORÜTMID, HENRI HÜTT

Between October 23 and 25, a new festival curated by Aivar Tõnso will take place for the first time in Tallinn. The focus is set on sound design that is connected with other art disciplines. The name of the festival has not yet been published by the time our brochure is printed. However, Kanuti Gildi SAAL is glad to host a part of the festival on October 23.

During the first year, the theme of the festival is creation of worlds and in SAAL’s basement and big hall are taking place different events, all under the common title “No Man’s Land”. In the afternoon it is possible to listen to the lecture in big hall and in the evening, an installation which was developed from the idea of collaborative concert program by vocalinstrumental trio Eeter (Anna Hints, Marja-Liisa Plats, Ann Reiman) and electron musicians Mihkel Tomberg and Aivar Tõnso will be opened. It is strongly related to cosmogonic folklore texts and their contemporary forms. In creation of the installation collectively created musical motives are used.together with the design by sculptor Eike Eplik and video artist Tencu (Andres Tenusaar).

The evening ends with a concert-performance “Algorütmid vs Henri Hütt”. Algorütmid (Mihkel
Tomberg ja Roland Karlson) has created sound designs for many performances by Henri Hütt.
This time they have changed the roles so that Henri Hütt adds some performative elements
to their concert. Algorütmid will perform music from their debut album coming out next year.
