HELEN REITSNIK & KÄRT TÕNISSON "elus ilu"
„elus ilu" talks about tme and beauty and the chance to run its course while noticing and acknowledging the presence in every moment without hurrying, without the grasp of neither past nor future. It is framed by seasonal circle.
The performance is a synthesis of video, movement, sound and lighting. Creating choreography, authors emanated from personal relations between themselves and their surroundings, sometimes finding themselves approaching to tragicomical situations through self-irony. The style and visual solutons of the performance bear a harmonical and positive flow. The aim is to show that beauty also touches, leaves a mark and allows to think along. It might balance out the provocative, manipulative performing arts which can be seen quite often.
Kärt Tõnisson is a freelance dancer, choreographer, dance and movement teacher. Her last works are dance performances for children together with the umbrella group united dancers of ZUGA and an international project „Fragile" that connected professional dancers and dancers with seeing disabilities. Today, she is teaching children to dance and move. According to her, joyfulness, sincerity and openness together with the ability to be present in time and space are the keywords that characterize this collaboration.
Helen Reitsnik is a freelance dance artist, who has been active on the contemporary dance scene in Estonia for over 18 years. She has collaborated with many Estonian choreographers and companys such as Fine 5, united dancers of ZUGA, Zick. While co-working, Helen prefers to rely on choreographer-director. For her, a great performance touches emotionally. Collaborating with Kärt, she discovered a similar cognition and humour.
