RESIDENTS at Püha Vaimu SAAL JANUARY 2013:

MAI SÖÖT & TIINA SÖÖT 3rd showing - Artist Talk

3rd presentation of Mai Sööt and Tiina Sööt, the residents of Püha Vaimu SAAL, will present Artist Talk. Discussion will be led bu the next artists in residency Doris Feldmann and Kristina-Maria Heinsalu.

Also this will be your last chance to visit the exhibition Pupp/Kanal at Kanuti Gildi SAAL Cellar hall!

We have no idea, what is the result but we try to surprise ourselves with electric fireplace. "Small Light" is not only a elegant piece of furniture but also a preheater, a nightmare that you are on stage and go with the flow, sit on a random tram and drive, pedals and all the effects are functioning but the upper row does not work. There is planned electric organ and electric fireplace and a story how they sit on the wrong busses but still to the same leg.

Tiina Sööt is active in the fields of performing and visual arts. At the moment she is studying in MA program of Performing arts at Estonian Art Academy, she has also studied performative arts at Fine Arts Academy of Vienna and has BA in ecology/theatre science from University of Tartu.

Mai Sööt has studied interdisciplinary arts (Estonian Art Academy, MA) and painting (Tartu Art College). She is performance artist who has previously been more active in visual arts. She directs, performs and makes exhibitions. Her solo performances of recent years are „Vampiirema", „Püha Maria", „Ekstaas" etc.

Mai and Tiina Sööt have been sisters from 1986. In summer 2012 premiered their first collaboration performance "Nagu maasikas karu perses".

Spectators are invited to come and learn about the artists in residency during the whole month. How exactly the dialogue between artist and audience will take place will appear during the concrete residency. Series is supported by Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
