RESIDENT Püha Vaimu SAALis VEEBRUAR 2012: KATRIN ESSENSON

Kanuti Gildi SAAL will start a new series of residency called currently RESIDENT OF Püha Vaimu SAAL .Together with new series we open a space Püha Vaimu SAAL which is compared to our activity at Pikk street an alternative step. The space is small, but it is still a black box.At the beginning of every month one artist is invited to Püha Vaimu SAAL to concentrate, develop his mind, investigate and to test ideas. There are no limits to styles and types. Spectators are invited to come and learn about the artists in residency during the whole month. How exactly the dialogue between artist and audience will take place will appear during the concrete residency. Series is supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.

During February the resident in Püha Vaimu SAAL will be Katrin Essenson, who after long time is again working on solo performance, the theme of investigation is intellectuals.

Katrin Essenson is a curator and performer who has created performances since 1998. Her works have been shown in Estonia, Europe and USA. Besides other works she initiated with Liina Keevallik festival on different art forms called May Lily Days (www.kirbutsirkus.com) and in collaboration with Raul Keller experimental sound environment Lokaalraadio and radiophonic festival Radiaator (www.lokaalraadio.ee).
