KATRIN ESSENSON & MARI SAVITSKI
´Sündmuste Horisont´

´Events Horizon´ or in other words ´Short Clear-Cut Versions of Documentaries and Fictions´ is an experiment. How to converge theory and practice without reducing either? How to find the indistinguishable points in between different kinds, such as image and thought, poetry and prose …within the process of articulation? Themes of the performance may vary from wall to wall, from ceiling to ceiling, from floor to floor?… and are more or less bounded to the concept of performativity. In spite of the differences, one can draw them together under the notion „event“. Events as something that can be judged or concluded only after it has taken place… It is also an event as such-and-such…that there are two dancers on the stage.

Katrin Essenson has been creating performances since 1998. She graduated from
the Tallinn Pedagogical University choreography department and from 2003 studies Interdisciplinary Arts in the Estonian Academy of Arts. Her works have been performed at various dance and art festivals in Estonia, Germany, Netherlands, Slovenia, Italy and France.

Mari Savitski studied in ballet school 'Fouette' and Jeoffrey Ballet School in New York. Also worked in dancetheatre ´Young Estonian Ballet Fouette´ and as a ballerina in theatre ´Vanemuine´. She has received several awards from international ballet competitions.
