KARMEN ONG / LEELO ´Adiemus´

bnm

Composing his etno-classical magnus opus ´Adiemus´ Karl Jenkins used a language he had himself invented – to bring out the harmony on consonants and vowels instead of using language as a vehicle for carrying meaning. At first this work was intended for a solo female voice, now however it has became internationally popular amongst women’s choirs.

Maidens’ Choir ´Leelo´ was founded in 1996. It belongs to Estonian Women’s Singing Association and assembles girls from all over Estonia. It has been popular giving concerts both in Estonia and internationally. Raul Talmar is a choirmaster who has worked with ´Leelo´ since 2001. Estonian Choir League chose him as Conductor of the Year in 2007. Dance Theatre TEE KUUBIS was created by students, ex-students and teachers of the choreography chair of the Tallinn University. Their site-specific productions received the Philip Morris Estonian contemporary dance newcomer’s prize in 2006. Paukenfest is a percussion quartet founded in 2000. Urmas Lattikas is an Estonian composer and jazz pianist. He graduated the Estonian Academy of Music as a composer. Later he studied composition and jazz piano at Berklee College of Music in Boston. He works in various music projects. Tanel Klesment – well-known sound editor for classical music.
