united dancers of ZUGA are you ZUGA: myth & reality (presentation)  (40’)

Presentation of the newest piece of the united dancers of ZUGA. It will premiere in Tallinn and Utrecht in April 2005. ZUGA is a collective uniting young dance makers Mairika Plakso, Kaja Kann and Tiina Mölder. During Springdance/preview 2004 in Utrecht, they participated in the Dialogue sessions, where they spoke confidently about their collective way of working. During the presentations many questions arose about themselves and the way they work. These important questions have been transferred into this production as a performance consisting of solos. Each dance maker works on her own solo and in the end all solos will be assembled into a full-evening performance.

KRÕÕT JUURAK ’Artistic Approach 3.1’  (40’)

Krõõt Juurak has studied choreography at Arnhem Institute of the Arts and visual arts at Gerrit Rietveld Academie Amsterdam. Her works, often conceptual and ironic, have been performed at various dance festivals in Estonia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Moldova, Ukraine etc. In her work Krõõt deals with issues such as public/private space, conventionality, the gaze of the audience, their expectations etc. In April 2004 she was the artist in residence at Tanzquartier Vienna where this work was started.

MARGUS TOOMLA / CARLOS PEZ ’Already played tomorrow’  (30’)

‘Already Played Tomorrow’ is a project about a performance; a performance that doesn’t exist, that never existed and will never exist. ‘Already Played Tomorrow’ is being developed as a project through the transmission of the same piece to different performers who will present their version of it in their local community and/or in their country of origin. Carlos Pez created this version to Estonian dancer Margus Toomla in residency in Tallinn in September-October 2004 and it premiered in October.
