RAINER JANCIS



Rainer Jancis will perform mediative polyrythmic scale-improvisations on a 7 string fretless electric guitar. He has been playing this instrument since 1996 and has given similar concerts in Lisbon, Oslo, Berlin, Riga, Paris and New York.

Rainer Jancis is an Estonian musician who is concentrated on alternative tuning both his own and of others. 1999-2003 he lived and worked in Berlin. Since the 90s he has been playing improvisational music and has given shows in Scandinavia, Europe and USA. He has made quite a lot of music for films and theatre productions. He is closely involved with the Estonian band “Metro Luminal”.

IMPROTEST is a concert series organized by Kanuti Gildi SAAL, MKDK and U.L.A.Jazz to present the best parts of free improvisational music. The concerts of this series take place since the year 2005 once a month from January to May and from September to December. Series is supported by Tallinn City Council Cultural Heritage Department and Cultural Endowment of Estonia. Curators: Mart Soo and Taavi Kerikmäe.
