TELLERVO KALLEINEN
´Let Me´

Performance in Tallinn is supported by Finnish Artists Union and Finnish Institute in Tallinn.

A low female voice says, “Imagine a red haired girl standing alone on a stage”. That´s how the 30 minutes of your life begin shared with a Finnish performance artist Tellervo Kalleinen. Welcome to see, feel and smell Let me. Not for those who are afraid of darkness…

Tellervo Kalleinen (born 1975) is a Finnish performance and video artist who graduated Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki in 2003. She has also studied then studied performance art in Germany under the guidance of Marina Abramovic and Cosima von Bonin in 2000-2001. She has performed and shown her pieces in Hamburg, Dublin, Birmingham, Tallinn and quite recently in Sidney. In the Art Academy she formed a girl’s choir “Vuokkoset” together with Nina Braun and Mirka Raitio. She has also been a curator of performance festival Amorph 03 together with Oliver Kochta. Her video installation “In The Middle of a Movie” belongs to the collection of Estonian Art Museum.
In one of her interviews she has stated: “I will perhaps never create an artwork, which would not involve other people in one way or another. My works are like studies, not in the scientific but in the human sense. They always encompass a mystery to unravel or a challenge to meet which enhances my interest in the process.”
