RUHRPOTT FESTIVAL:
Ludica. & SVEN KUNTU
(Düsseldorf-Tallinn)
’The Corner’ /PREMIERE/

Anyone who has been sent, driven or put itself into the corner (depending on the age and character) know one thing for sure about it – you MUST change yourself or your behaviour in case you do not want to end up there any more. And usually you do not want to end up there any more since it is instructive, uncomfortable and absurd to be in the corner. Therefore getting or stepping into the corner is dependent on an individual’s adaptability and sometimes also on one’s sense of humour.
90 % of the thinking/behaviour of contemporary people is based on conditioned reflexes (within the circumstances of an open market). Apparently the remaining 10% can occasionally lead us into the corner.

Installation/performance The Corner was launched within the project Colina 2005 that took place in Düsseldorf. Colina was introduced to bring together people form the different fields of art and to encourage them to collaborate.
Due to the first prompt but passionate exchange of thoughts the decision was made to put the ideas that emerged into practice. This was followed by residencies at Montemor-o-Novo (in Portugal) and in Tallinn (Estonia), where The Corner will also be premiered in April 2007.
